A Cord of Three Strands

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

About Me

I am a member of Charis childbirth Ministries, a course that Certifies Doulas and Childbirth Educators. I began this course in November of 2009. I've also attended the "Teaching Birth,"  "Childbirth Labor Support," and "Rebozo" Workshops. Which prepared me to serve childbearing families and educate them about Pregnancy, and Childbirth.

My family consists of my loving, loyal husband; and our seven beautiful children and two son-in-laws. We reside in Narvon, PA. My husband and I were born and raised in the Amish culture but are now born again Christians. I have a heart to mentor and empower young women to become loving wives and joyful mothers.

I wanted to become a Doula when I heard about women being terrified of the birth process. Women have shared with me their fears, frustrations and expectations regarding either their past birth experiences or their upcoming births. I began my journey of becoming a Doula by researching the differences of experiencing a natural childbirth versus a medicated childbirth.  My research on this subject led me to the Charis website (http://www.charischildbirth.org/).

Since then I have attended twenty-three wonderful births; in not only the hospital, but also in birth centers and at home.

For your birth I would be on call 24/7, available for any questions you might have, advice, and comfort. Unlike a Doctor or a Midwife I am able to come to your home as soon as you need me, or as soon as you start labor. And I stay until after the first breastfeeding.
